About Me

Yes, I am older now. But this was my first year in public education, kindergarten, a member of the class that had the first ever oral dose of  Dr. Salk's polio vaccine, and it meant something to us because we knew folks in our neighborhoods with polio. Does anyone else remember it? A little tiny paper Dixie cup formed of conical pleated paper, much like hospital cups used to serve pills to patients today. It was room temperature, very much like tap water, and was tasteless ... but very exciting to us. No needles!

You're letter re: Memorial Day is an extraordinary gift that I will treasure forever ... My husband has framed it, and I've shared a copy of it with my sister, Stephen's mother.
Thank you -- I am both humbled and proud to have been your teacher this year.

Mrs. Palardy,
Thank you. It was wonderful being in your class this year. I just wanted you to know what an impact having you as my teacher had on me. :)
